Writing and reading that was not only hard but also quite traumatic as I simply don't believe it. I want to do better. I always want to do better. What was an exercise to help me to see how clients see the service that I offer for HCPC (Healthcare Professions Council) has become more of an emotionally difficult realisation that although I try my best I never feel that it is good enough but clients are actually telling me that it is!
Analysing the survey I automatically picked up on the answers that didn't score the highest marks. This was in fact 5% of the total answers and these were the second highest marks. However, what it did do was to get me to write down what I already practice but I want to be accountable to these. So, here are my "given":
Any contact from a client or vet will be attended to within 24hrs
New clients will be offered an appointment within 7 working days from contact
I always work as a team with a carer to try to allow their dog/cat to be as relaxed as possible
I explain what treatment technique I’m doing and why
I always ask if the client has any additional questions, requires any more information prior to the end of the appointment
If I lack knowledge, I make a note, come back to it, find the answer and inform the client
